We have child psychiatrists and therapists who provide support and mental health care to children and adults. The child psychiatry staff is skilled in accurately diagnosing mental health conditions in children and adolescents and developing individualized treatment plans for each unique child. Our therapists and mental health professionals provide comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care to adults.
Dr. Akinnusi is an experienced Psychiatrist, who is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Adult and Child Psychiatry. After graduating from medical school at Olabisi Onabanjo University in Nigeria, she returned to England, United Kingdom where she was born. She trained while there at the Guys, Kings and Thomas Psychiatry Training Program before moving to the United states in 2002. She completed her General Psychiatry residency and Child Psychiatry Fellowship at the University at Buffalo, New York. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Clinical TMS Society.
Dr. Akinnusi has extensive experience in treating a wide variety of Psychiatric disorders in both Adults and Children. She utilizes a comprehensive approach including pharmacotherapy and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation.
Dr. Akinnusi is a devoted Christian and is married with a son. She enjoys traveling and reading.
Stephanie Welch, MSN, PMHNP-BC is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, with training and experience treating patients with psychiatric disorders across the lifespan and across practice settings, from hospitals to outpatient clinics. She specializes in PTSD/trauma treatment, anxiety treatment, and depression treatment. Her education includes a Master of Science in Nursing, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specialization, from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia. Stephanie brings to clinic a philosophy of holistic care for spiritual, mental and physical health. She is committed to individualized, personalized, comprehensive care for patients.
Julie Pefanis, PMHNP-BC holds a Master’s Degree from Georgia State University and is a board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in the psychiatric field for over twenty-five years in various settings including, inpatient, intensive outpatient, private practice, and community mental health centers. She treats various Psychiatric disorders in children, adolescents, and adults. She is enthusiastic, caring, and develops a strong rapport with her patients and their families. Julie and her husband have been married for thirty-one years and have four adult children. She loves spending time with her family and her dogs.
Andersen Kelsey is the Practice Manager at StrongTower Behavioral Healthcare. She has worked in healthcare administration for 5 years, and her previous professional experience has given her the skills necessary to deliver excellent customer service while managing the day-to-day operations of the office. Outside of the office, Andersen enjoys hiking and her studies in biochemistry.
Michael Cabena is the Compliance Officer at Strongtower Behavioral Healthcare. With his expertise in HIPAA and healthcare security and privacy, Michael excels in protecting the security and privacy rights of all StrongTower Behavioral Healthcare patients. Michael is passionate about continuing education in HIPAA and healthcare privacy, and he enjoys spending time with his dogs and his family outside of work.

Alex Kelsey is the telehealth coordinator at StrongTower Behavioral Healthcare. His commitment to mental healthcare drives him to strive for excellence each day. Alex is passionate about assisting patients in their journey of self-improvement.
We provide Child Psychiatry, focusing on the mental health and emotional well-being of children. Our Child Psychiatrists are medical doctors who have completed additional training in psychiatry to work specifically with this age group.
